"'Words are, of course, the most powerful
drug used by mankind.' Rudyard Kipling"
Rambling the globe in search of a good metaphor,
itinerant poet Chris Chandler's prose are most effectual when
presented in tandem with a musical foil who can infuse poignant
underscoring to the themes and vivid imagery Chandler offers.
Chandler has found that foil several times in his career but
perhaps none as fitting as guitarist/singer Paul Benoit who
has graced the stages of High Sierra back in the day with
Seattle based group Hanuman. Chandler delivers his story/songs
like a cross between the most prolific Beat Generation poet,
a Baptist preacher on a Sunday morning delivering a fiery
sermon and a quick-witted comedian. You'd be hard-pressed
to find a more engaging poet/storyteller on the planet, one
who can challenge you on many levels one moment and make you
laugh your ass off the next.
