"Cookin’ New Orleans style – secret ingredient 'ism'"
Original Meters drummer Zigaboo Modeliste once called the intangible element that makes New Orleans music truly funky "ism", as in 'the music of the Meters had that "ism" to it', meaning it had that certain je ne sais quoi. You can be sure that this unique New Orleans tandem performance featuring keyboardist Robert Walter (Greyboy All-stars, 20th Congress) and drummer Johnny Vidacovich is going to be loaded with ism. Johnny V. is one of the most renowned and sought after New Orleans drummers (he taught a young drummer names Stanton Moore who you know as the drummer in Galactic and Garage a Trois) and anytime he can play in a setting where there is plenty of room for his drums to do the talking he'll make quite a statement. Drummers and lovers of New Orleans (WHO DAT!) take note.
