Greetings High Sierra friends and family. As we hunker down in our homes for the next while, we are reminded of how important it is to stay connected to one another, and how the urge to make art and music is so much a part of being human. We are seeing our favorite musicians perform from their living rooms, Zooming happy hours with friends, and throwing neighborhood “socially distant” block parties. In some ways this time feels like a wholesale reset in our collective consciousness, recalling what it means to be a part of a family, a tribe, a community. We know many of you are wondering about the status of this year’s festivities. We are still hopeful that with all the work we are doing right now, the “curve flattening” will be a success, and we will be able to gather together safely. What we ask of you now is your patience on this journey. Remember, it’s still March. The festival is still 100 days away.
We’re in it together, and appreciate so much your messages of support as we continue to work on the festival, full of hope that the sacrifices we’re making now will bring us where we need to be for an amazing 30th year in July.
Thank you.
